Friday Stage Youth Concert 5:30 - 10:00pm
emcee Shauntay Grant
The youth night became a full fledged part of the festival last year at the 2nd annual Harmony Bazaar. It's getting a little bigger and better every year. For '08, we have Pink Thunder who have opened for several bands including Hedley and Faber Drive. As well, we are welcoming back some youth night favorites such as Jessica Keen and Vapor. The inspirational Shauntay Grant, of Halifax's Spoken Word, will open and emcee. It's promising to be a great show!

Friday Youth Performance Workshop
3:00 - 4:30pm
Instructor Amy Grant
United Church, Lockeport
Technique
We will discuss the importance of posture and proper breathing and try a few exercises. Afterwards the youth will participate in doing some physical warm ups to help prevent and get rid of tension that inhibits good vocal production. At this time I will also give some suggestions on how to keep the voice healthy. We will also learn and sing some vocal warm ups that will help enforce proper breathing techniques, voice projection and good tone.
Performance
During this part of the workshop the youth will have the opportunity to perform one or more of the pieces they have chosen to perform later on that evening (depending on how many participants there are and how much time is left remaining) or a song of their own choosing. Each person should bring the instrument he or she will be using to accompany him or herself. People may also sing without using any accompaniment if they choose to do so. At this time I will give some suggestions on how to improve the performance and give encouragement to continue doing the things I feel are an asset to the performance.
The workshop will end with a brief question/answer period if there is time after everyone who wants to has had an opportunity to perform.

Since one of our goals is to assist women in developing their talent, and since we love meeting new people, we decided to feed and
entertain you!!
Come down to Lockeport and enjoy the festival, some food, and network with industry professionals and performers from all over the place.
